Please help me correct a short essay! Thank you so much.?

Being an Asian-American, specifically Vietnamese, comes along with the term model minority which carries a baggage of other expectations. We are supposed to be smart, have the most resources, and get everything easy educational wise. Even though some of these cases may be applied to the vast majority of Asians, I have some trouble in meeting these qualifications. However, my cultural background did help strengthen my values on education. I grew up in a family where going college is the norm. Therefore, I treasure knowledge and wish to expand it during my time at the University of San Diego. And as for my weakness, growing up in a family who originated in Asia added to the difficulty in learning English. Since I was born in Vietnam, my scope of the world was limited and English was not my native language. After I moved, I was unable to communicate with those outside my family because of the language barrier that separated two very different worlds. However, I developed my communication and writing skills quickly to ensure my chances of enrollment for honor and advanced placement classes in high school. My weakness in the subject of English will stand in my path toward success in college but I will study gradually to break the wall that stands in my way. After all, life is not meant to let one be successful in big movements. I shall take small movements in achieving my goal and treasure any knowledge I have garnered throughout.
