Could a socially conservative democrat seal the party's nomination by winning conservative leaning states?

We'll have to wait and see in 2016 for that because Mr. Obama is going to be the Democratic candidate in 2012, he could be the nominee in 2016 I guess too though since he's going down in 2012.
