Gilded age inventions and modern day inventions?

I have to do a project where I find an invention from the gilded age (1875-1915). Then I have to find the same invention in modern ages(1970-2010). For example: The lightbulb. Thomas Edison invented it in 1879 (gilded age). Then Edward Hammer invented the fluorescent lightbulb in 1973. Modern age. The time period is very important. I can't take it if it was invented earlier or later. So far, I've only found four. (Vacuum, Telephone, Teddy Bear, and Windshield Wipers.) I know this may seem easy, but it's hard finding the modern day inventions when no one really cares who invented it and it's so developed that I can't tell where it originated from. Thanks for your help.
