What if i took a semester off?

I'm a freshman and i'm supposed to be studying now in a medical university but i withdraw my enrollment.The truth is I'm confused and a little homesick because I'm far away from home especially to my parents.I'm a Pre-dent I student supposed to be but i think i'm going to shift.I'm mean I liked it but I think I'm more into arts and I want to be a writer. And so I decide to take a semester off.Still I have plans I'm planning to attend some lessons like continuing my piano lessons,just to keep myself busy for awhile.Actually i've already enrolled in a short computer course so that you know i can still continue learning.But what if i will enroll again this second semester to the the same university.What are my consequenses after missing a semester and how do i cope? I'm doing this so that i can earn enough credits in order to transfer next year to a different university and to take a different course that suits me and to where I'm trully happy with . I badly need help! I really need some advice.Is my descision right?Please and thanks a lot....
